The Costa Del Sol is a long stretch of coast line comprising of many smaller and large Spanish towns and ‘pueblos’.

Each town along the Costa Del Sol can offer many different attractions, but also the roads and general terrain can be quite unfriendly towards certain mobility criteria. For instance upper Riviera and upper Calahonda are build on long gradient hills. If you are faced with pushing a manual wheelchair from the bottom on the coast, all the way up to your rented accommodation 4km at the top of the hill, this will prove to cause a lot of discomfort for all. Even when renting an electric mobility scooter to tackle these issues, please bear in mind to chose the correct suitable mobility scooter category to give you the best performance.

A town such as Marbella is very friendly for mobility hire due to its flat streets. There are of course some slopes and narrower streets especially in the Old Town of Marbella, but these can always be avoided in alternative routes.
Marbella does boast a beautiful marble paved Paseo marítimo stretching all the way from the old fishing port of marbella all the way to the famous Puerto Banus.
A mobility scooter could actually carry a passenger the whole distance but it would have to be a larger scooter with the large capacity batteries to assure not getting stuck half way. Obviously fully charged as well to maximize travel potential.
A visit to Puerto Banus is a must if you enjoy strolling amongst moored up luxury speed boats and mega yachts. Mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs are perfectly accepted inside the port so feel free to take a visit, just make sure not to get in the way of the regularly passing by super cars that cruise the ports one way street every day and night.
The neighboring town of San Pedro Alcántara offers more of a Spanish feel that the previously mentioned Puerto Banus. Again mainly flat streets and a beautiful smooth Paseo marítimo along the sea front is a perfect place to ride along on any mobility scooter, electric wheelchair or even a manual wheelchair. With no slopes and marble paving, it makes very easy ground to push a wheelchair.
Further up into the town of San Pedro Alcántara you will find an abundance of lovely restaurants, cafes and bars. Again, a town very easy for mobility aid access so don’t hesitate to take your mobility scooter for an evening perusing the local streets whilst enjoying the warm Andalusian nights.
The Costa Del Sol doesn’t end there, it continues from San Pedro Alcántara, passed Estepona as far as Manilva and Duquesa, even as far down as the luxury port of Sotogrande.
